The tailor

A few weeks ago I went to a local tailor to have some trousers made. She took my measurements and said that it would be ready in two days. When I came to collect the trousers, she explained that she was not yet ready. But, in two days she would be. Anyway this went on for three times before it was ready. First I thought is was a waste of my time, but the frequent visits to pii Faai (that’s her name) made that she became confident enough to start talking about something she read. Her son came home from the Christmas outreach we did at the local primary school. He had brought this little booklet about Jesus. She explained to me that she read it over and over again and wanted to learn more. Because, she said, if this is true, than this is huge and important.

Now a few weeks and two chronological bible studies later she shows very good understanding of what Christianity involves. It keeps her thinking, but she needs Gods help to open the eyes of her heart. It is very difficult to realise that Jesus is the only way, and not just another way. I will continue with the teaching and pray that God will open her heart.
