Module outDuring the first year in Lopburi every student has to complete 9 modules. Eight of these modules are studied within the OMF Language School. One module…your 8th or your 9th is studied with an outside language helper. You basically have to find someone who’s able to teach you the Thai language. You’re not looking for a teacher, but just an ordinary person who’s able to help you. This experience helps you to get used to study language with somebody who’s not trained to teach, because after the first year language study continues outside the school with a non qualified teacher as well. It’s also very helpful if the language helper doesn’t speak any English. Over the past 4 weeks I’ve been studying my ‘module out’. It’s been a very helpful experience and I learned a lot of new things. My language helper was very good in correcting my pronunciation and tones. He wasn’t used to my Thai – Dutch accent so I really had to try hard to speak as clear as possible! Overall this module has been one of the better ones in making progress. Hope it will continue like that ones we move out of Lopburi. Leave a Reply |
